I remember my dad telling me as a child that open container laws only applied on the state highways or freeways. Back in those days, my uncle a motorcycle cop, would tell stories of making high schoolers pour out the beer they were caught drinking in their car and make them promise not to do it again. And tell them to drive away. In fact I can recall more than one keg far that got busted when I was in high school and the cops told us to pour out our beers and drive home safely. Not saying any of that is right just noting on how culture has changed from then til now.

The BAC limit in all 50 states is  .08%.   The Per Se limits for drivers under 21 is .02 in almost all states.
