[iPad] Camera connection kit

I purchased the camera connection kit so that I can transfer pictures from my sd card to my ipad2. When I connect it, on the iPad screen comes up a message which says no photos to import. Am I going crazy? There are over 1000 pictures on the sd card. I can see them if I connect the sd card to my regular pc.

The photos on my sd card are from my cell phone.

RE: [iPad] Exporting photos from iPad to Computer

Nope,   doesn’t show up in either location.

Ed

Beats me.
Do you see the iPad in the Control Panel/Devices list at all?
or in the list in "computer" in the Win Explorer left pane?

Hmmmm. The below process does NOT work on MY Win 7 PC.

================================================

For Win7 --

Plug iPad into computer w/sync cable
No need to have iTunes even open.

Open an explorer window {windows-key + E}

After a little bit the iPad will appear as a portable device (digital
camera).
(alt method: open Control Panel/Devices & Printers)

Select the iPad, and drill down until you get to the folder with the images.

Have another explorer window open & a folder open & ready to receive your
images; select the images on the ipad & drag/drop to the folder.

This works for several dozen images, I haven't tried it with hundreds let
alone thousands. If you can do it in one go, it might take "a while".

For Win XP, IIRC, just plugging the iPad in will bring up the photo-import
wizard (which isn't *in* W7 apparently.)

I don't know which way Vista goes on this, but one or the other should work.

I kept having to look up how to do it (since W7 doesn't have that nice
import-wizard) before I actually wrote a crib sheet; I'm *beginning* to
remember w/o having to check my notes! XP wizard was *so much easier!*

How long did it take for the import?
And how long will it take you to "organize" them? :-)

YEAH BJ!! Thanks so much for your very clear directions on how to export my
photos from my iPad2 to my XP PC. Once I got on the right track, I realized
I needed to update the iPad2 driver to get the computer to recognize the
iPad2 as a camera/scanner. I downloaded the driver, restarted both the PC
and iPad2 and it worked like a charm!!! All photos are successfully
exported. I really appreciate your quick response and your assistance.
And, there were others with suggestions and I thank you as well.

[iPad] Web clip for Evernote

I just downloaded Evernote. I would like to use Web Clip to save parts of web pages to Evernote, but can't figure out how to do it.

The web clip download page from Evernote keeps sending me in circles. I click "download for iPad" and I just get sent back to the same page. Can't find anywhere to find a functioning download. What am I doing wrong?

Evernote experts can you help a Newbie?

On your computer, make sure digital camera notification is enabled and the desired actions and programs are selected to handle your photo and video import.

Note: If you have a media application on your computer to which you would like your images and videos imported, you can select that program from the AutoPlay settings window in the Control Panel.

To import photos or video from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to the Windows Photo Gallery:

  1. Connect the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer. Windows should automatically open the AutoPlay dialog box.
Note: If the AutoPlay dialog box does not automatically open, you may need to enable the behavior.
    AutoPlay dialog
  2. Select the "Import pictures and videos using Windows" option in the AutoPlay dialog.
  3. You can optionally choose to tag the photos and video you want to copy. Click Import after you're finished tagging.
    Import Pictures and Videos
  4. AutoPlay will then import your images and videos to the Windows Photo Gallery. This screen appears only while the import process is active:
    Import progress
  5. Once the import is complete, Windows Photo Gallery will launch with your photos and videos highlighted under the "Recently Imported" section:
    Windows Photo Gallery

Find more information about transferring media from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a PC using:

Windows XP: Transferring personal photos and video from your device to your PC

* Video importing requires QuickTime 7.6.2 or later.

And it's quite small. My Apple TV sits on top of my ComCast cable box. I love it. It plays everything in my iTunes library plus Netflix movies and of course movies that I rent or buy from the Apple store. I must confess I don't rent though. I only did it once to see how it worked.

[iPad] Re: Exporting photos from iPad to Computer

I use Photo Transfer app to move photos from iPhone to iPad wirelessly.  It is supposed to work with a computer as well.  You need to have the app on both receiving and sending.  Works like a charm through Bluetooth.

With thousands to move it will take some time.

You can check out the app in the App Store.  Only cost a couple of bucks if I remember correctly.

Try using Dropbox to transfer photos to your computer. I'd avoid trying to transfer all 4500 photos at once.
