That worked.  Guess I didn't hold my finger down on the pic long enough when I tried it before.  Duh!

Have you tried opening the attachment and then tapping and holding on it? A menu should pop up giving you the option to save it.

I totally agree.  That's why I put "Multitasking" in quotes in the subject line.  iOS has had multitasking essentially from the beginning.  It's just that you can't have the screen of more than one of what's running showing.  I often have music playing while I work on something else (even several "something else"s) – Now THAT's multitasking!  It's as though the people choosing the terminology have no idea what they're saying.

Aha!  Thank you Pat.  I hadn't noticed the pull-down stripe up there.  It works just as you say - just what I was looking for. 


Funny thing is I hadn't found any documentation describing it.  The only thing I did see involved a three/four-finger swipe – which does nothing.
