It's voice VR is better than Siri for my voice searches. I'd use google for search and siri for my phone.

Proly just a default. In safari in settings you can already choose a search engine.

Apple Could Drop Google For Bing In Safari

By Anna Peel

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is rumored to be dropping rival Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) as the main search engine for Safari. The partnership is set to end early next year, and it is reported Apple will either go with another search engine or perhaps launch its own.

Apple could launch search engine

Reports of Apple potentially developing a search engine is nothing new. Four years ago, Piper Jaffray analysts predicted the Cupertino-based tech giant would eventually launch a mobile search engine by 2015. Earlier this month, Apple Insider reported a web-crawling bot was found in Apple's servers. This could be the start of a new search engine or it could be just a way to boost search options. One example of this is when OS X Yosemite Search Spotlight scours through desktop, web, Wikipedia and maps.

It's reported Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT)'s Bing and Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) are already in talks with Apple about becoming the main search engine for Mac and iOS devices. Right now it appears Microsoft has the upper hand because Bing is already used for Spotlight and Siri. But back in 2013, Yahoo was reportedly working to increase revenues and aim to become Apple's default search.

Firefox Drops Google

Firefox recently dropped Google as the default search engine and replaced it with Yahoo. Both moves could further inspire other companies to drop Google's search engine from their websites or applications.

Apple has always switched up providers for programs. With the iOS 7 launched, Siri's default engine was Bing. With iOS 8, Apple replaced Yahoo's Weather with The Weather Channel. Apple even dropped Google Maps in favor of its own Maps. There is a strong possibility Apple could go with another search engine but it is just as likely it could launch its own search service. The latter could be a huge blow to rival Google as it remains one of the leading search engines around the world.

Yes. Just as much of one as to sell the iPhone 5, 6, 6+ concurrently then you have mini, air and pro; so three so sizes it each. Maybe.

The only reason that I have both is that I'm a "gadget nut"!  In the future I will just have the iPad Air since I use it the most & like it best.

I suppose that makes sense. Kind of like the iPad 2 sticking around as the new ones are coming on board. It just makes me wonder if I made a mistake getting the Mini 3 and should I return it and get my money back?

Apple's 12.2-Inch 'iPad Air Plus' Launch Tipped For April-June 2015; iPad Mini 4 Details Also Surface

Speculation about the long-rumored bigger iPad was boosted Friday after a Japanese magazine published what it claimed to be schematics depicting the design of a 12.2-inch iPad, dubbed the "iPad Air Plus" that Apple is said to be working on.

The design, which is depicted by Japan's Mac Fan magazine, suggested that the bigger iPad would feature a 12.2-inch LCD display and would have a dimension of 12 inches x 8.7 inches x 0.28 inches, which supports previous rumors about the device's size. The latest report, however, contradicts some earlier rumors saying that Apple's bigger iPad could sport a 12.9-inch display.

The Mac Fan report also said that the iPad Air Plus could be powered by a next-generation A9 processor, which would be an upgrade from the A8X processor found in the existing iPad Air 2. As for the launch, the new tablet is expected to be released somewhere between April and June in 2015, Macotakara, another Japanese publication, reported, citing Mac Fan.

In addition to the bigger screen size and an upgraded processor, the new tablet is also expected to have four built in speakers to provide improved stereo audio.

The Mac Fan report also talked about the next iPad mini, or iPad mini 4, which is said to feature the same A8X processor found in the iPad Air 2. The report also stated that following the launch of the iPad mini 4 both the iPad mini and iPad mini 3 will be discontinued by Apple.

In August, Bloomberg reported that Apple was planning to launch a bigger iPad with a 12.9-inch display in early 2015, while a report from the Wall Street Journal said in October that Apple had delayed the mass production of the larger iPad from December to the next year due to high demand for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Earlier this month, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple's 12.9-inch "iPad Pro" may not enter production until the second quarter of 2015 because of the extra time needed for component yield and assembly, MacRumors reported.
