Thank you for pointing this out, Carl!
There is a step that missing in your outline, though. When I clicked on
"Web Beacons" there was no box on the left with an "opt-out" option. I
had to click on the phrase "Relevant Advertising" to learn more and
there finally was an opt-out button.
Sad to know that it's machine-specific and not user-specific.
And Yahoo complains when the government wants to invade its privacy --
why can't it pass along the courtesy it wants from the government? What
is it with these big corporations -- what they want for themselves (no
government snooping or warrantless searches) they still want to impose
on the rest of us!
Sheesh! Didn't their kindergarten teachers teach them that its best to
treat others as we want to be treated ourselves?
