It is a slight pain, although you can't argue about the sync priocess Apple uses, pretty good. I suggest to delete from the device, then attach to iTunes, delete from iTunes (untick) and sync.

I think there is a means to fully remove the app from iTunes

This goes along with the question asked. 2 scenarios:

1. I sync iPhone/iPad to my computer, I delete an app from my iPhone/iPad, next update from App Store I see an update to the app I deleted. It seems the app wasn't deleted from my computer.  True?

2. I sync to the cloud, I delete an app from iPhone/iPad, I never see notifications for an update for the app deleted.  Does this mean the app was deleted from the cloud?   

Does Apple not want automatic deletion of app from computer when you delete from iPhone/iPad? Or, is there a way to turn that on?

Knowing the answers to these questions may be the answer to bjklecks question.

Hello all, ok I need some help here. Can anyone explain how the apps that are downloaded from App Store are to be deleted. I thought that I could just delete straight from the iPad...but tonight I synced my iPad with iTunes...and crap I have 6 pages of apps that I have deleted...I thought for good... But they can back on my iPad. How should I be deleting apps that I no longer wish to use...thanks
