Chris, those were 2400 Baud modems, not 2600 Baud modems. Still, ran rings around a 1200 and more so for those poor souls who started with a 300Baud unit. I remember getting a personal phone call some years later from Steve Case of America OnLine (AOL) asking me why I was dropping their service. Kinda like getting a call from Steve Jobs or Steve W. but thought nothing of it at the time.
Ahh…. The days…. I miss all the nifty BBS's.

It's like herding costs to get ppl to trim. Case and point. It's also like herding cats to get ppl to read the archives because this topic may easily contain volumes and volumes already discussed.
But feel free to ask. I'll try to remember. But it's definitely not a rule. It's antiquated etiquette based upon limited bandwidth of 2600 baud modems and compuserve, IMO.
