I have cathedral vaulted ceilings. There is no distortion due to the vaulted ceiling. We placed our speakers so they are pointed down at us, the front speakers are approximately 4' from the ceiling and the rear speakers approximatly 1' due to our TV sitting under the peak of the vault. We have an A/V receiver so everything that is hooked up to the TV (cable, video games consoles, Mac Mini) goes through the surround sound system.

For all of you with surround sound, do you have cathedral (vaulted) ceilings? How do you compensate?
