Hi David
On an other post I described how my 14yo daughter was locked out of her Apple ID.. Tonite, Audrey from Apple Singapore called and all sorted. Great.
Next issue is Samantha does not have iTunes on her Win 7 laptop that now has Win 8. (She tried to install but install error, maybe iTunes is not compatible for Win 8, thats another story.
Her iPhone has apps, photos, videos, some purchased music. Also she has some music added. In your post below, you mentioned that you were in the same situation but it backed everything up. Everything? I feel that the backup is useful, but you need to sync, so here are my questions as I feel needs to happen to restore Sam's iTunes
1. If I connect her iPhone to a blank iTunes that has her Apple ID, I can transfer purchases. This would be apps and purchased music. Will that music go into her iTunes folders as tracks?
2. What will happen to her Camera Roll, will that go to iTunes as image/video files? Or remain as backup?
3. I need to ascertain what other files, chiefly music that was imported, and hope she has that on her laptop, so I can re-import that?
4. Perhaps I might need to get some software to access these music files if she does not, cannot locate them on her laptop?
Any added detail will be much appreciated.
Tony

I was nervous about the same thing, but I took the plunge and hooked my
new iPad up to my new computer and was asked if I wanted to backup the
iPad to this new computer. I said yes, and the iPad is still fine with
all my apps and data files on it..
