"Install iTunes on the new PC and then connect your iPad to it. It will walk you through the process."
This is not the case. If you plug an iOS device into a new PC, it will tell you it was sync'd with another computer and then ask you to allow it to delete the media (which includes music, movies, pictures).
To avoid losing your media, you either back it up from the old PC or from the iOS device with a PC only app like SharePod (http://www.getsharepod.com/ )
Search google or YouTube to learn more.
