According to Jim Sterba in "Nature Wars: Story of HowWildlife Comebacks Turned Backyads into Battlegrounds" the population of feral cats in America is between 60 and 100 million.
The book is the subject of a review by Russell Baker in the 2/21/13 issue of the New York Review of Books. Very interesting read.Wish I could remember where I read it so y'all could refer to it, but I read a report or a study where they inventoried stomach contents of feral cats and found that there were very few bird traces, most of the stuff eaten was small rodents. Which makes some sense to me but doesn't mean it's true. :-)Fair winds and happy bytes, Dave Flory, Flower Mound, TXSpeak softly and study Aikido, and you won't need to carry a big stick.
