In light of the recent topic of feral cars endangering birds, I came upon an interesting statistic. According to Jim Sterba in "Nature Wars: Story of HowWildlife Comebacks Turned Backyads into Battlegrounds" the population of feral cats in America is between 60 and 100 million.
The book is the subject of a review by Russell Baker in the 2/21/13 issue of the New York Review of Books. Very interesting read.
