I have the iPad 3 and got the Mini. They serve different purposes. I use the iPad almost as a laptop, and the Mini slips into my purse and goes everywhere with me. I use it for reading and some other activities, and I use the iPad when I have bigger jobs -- meeting notes, writing, other things that would be annoying on a smaller device.

Unless you have a surplus of funds and nothing better to spend them on OR
you are a tech reviewer, why would you need both an iPad and an iPad Mini?
