You've gone too far to see the camera icon. Hit "Cancel" and go back to the "Slide to Unlock" screen. The Camera icon is in the bottom right corner. Slide that icon towards the top of the screen.

Nope.  Doesn't work on the mini because it has only the option of opening with the code.  The little typewriter icon is where the camera would be.  At least that's how it is on mine.

Try swiping up anyway and see if it works. I don't have a mini, so I can't try it myself.
