The article really says nothing other than permission is now needed to access the microphone. Either way I think the permission is because google apps all can use voice search now. Which. I thoroughly enjoy.

First of all, YouTube does not need my microphone if and when I upload a video.And I think you misunderstood me. I'm referring to apps that listen in on what you are saying. How else could you create a video without it?
