It *IS* a business -- in that we sell dogs for money. Not, often, making a profit over the long term. We breed these guys because we like them, and sell them (a) beause other people like them, too, and (b) to help pay for the costs of HAVING them and RAISING them.
We sell puppies in part because we cannot afford to raise all of them to adulthood ourselves, and in part because we often have no difficulty finding other people who would like to have a healthy, fit puppy with the genetic/performance background ours do.
In many cases, they have seen dogs of our lineage perform, and they seek us out.
