Nope.... Who she chooses is who she chooses. She will be an adult capable of making informed decisions.  I know I appreciated the autonomy when I married. If she allows me to pick, then that is a different situation, and I will most certainly offer.  What you did in your role as an officer of the law probably wasn't legal. (Otherwise why mention that you were a cop, versus just a concerned parent which we all are!)

Pets and ones physical offspring are two entirely different things last I checked.  A dog breeder didn't physically birth the dogs and if you did, what a special human you are.  I love my pet as much as I love my daughter so I understand that type of affection for pets....  I don't understand a total stranger presupposing to know what type of pet owner I will be by coming to see how I live.
