I bought an iPad 3 when it first came out. When the mini came out, I wanted it too.
I do not have any more surplus of funds than anyone else, but some people buy lots of tennis, shirts, shoes, expensive watches. I tend to put my 'surplus' funds in gadgets I want. I do not have a lot of vices, but like everyone, I make choices. I do not have cable so that saves me $80 - $120 per month.
Savings, if done correctly, can really add up.

Unless you have a surplus of funds and nothing better to spend them on OR you are a tech reviewer, why would you need both an iPad and an iPad Mini?
Thanks,Carl W. BrooksI don't have any pockets big enough for a mini and I always hold the larger iPad in one hand. If I got a mini I would still have to carry it in my hand. A mini might be good for a woman that carries a handbag but I don't use one. When I require something that will fit in my pocket then I can use an iPod or an iPhone. The mini for me is a no go, it just wouldn't get used.
