I just recently bought the glow light, or whatever they call it! It does have long battery life, is lightweight, easy to hold and fits easily in even my smaller purses. If you have a Barns and Noble close by, go take a look. The people there are always helpful and willing to help you out. They even have intro classes at most of the stores.
Let me know what you decide!

The whole point of the kindle paper white and the nook soft touch is they are like a paper book that you can read without the eyes train of a computer screen. You can read it outside as a regular book. I love my nook. I tried reading a book on my iPad and it hurt my eyes. I tend to read a lot in one sitting. I prefer my nook for books and the iPad for magazines. The whole concept of e-ink is to replicate a "real" book.
E in Long BeachSent from my new mini iPad!What do you find attractive about it? I played around with one a bit tonight at Best Buy and wasn't taken. The form factor is nice, but the letters seemed washed out and there was no obvious way to change type size. And, of course, it was b&w. And it cost a little more than a hundred dollars. I'm tempted by the idea of buying a reader just to see what the attraction may be, but I've not yet come across one that combines UI and screen to elicit that "very nice" response we always hope for.Just got a notice from Amazon… the new Kindle PaperWhite reader I had ordered that was previously scheduled to ship on Dec. 21 has now shipped and is expected to arrive later next week. Yay !
