Yeah, with the new version you have to tell it to show the sidebar. Seems silly to make us do that after all these years of having it there automatically. Makes more sense to have a command telling you to hide the side bar if you don't want it.

Dang, I like the sidebar, I want to see whats going on. But, I am also aware that us human beings generally like order, what we are used to. So, I will spend some time on iTiunes 11 first, begore I form an opinion.

A lot of what you can do in iTunes 11 can be done without using the sidebar. I really like that.  I'm hoping a lot of members here will try to use iTunes using some or all the new features skipping the sidebar except when iDevices are plugged in.  I haven't found a way to access iDevices without the sidebar.  I don't know how long the sidebar will stay in iTunes, looking at what can be done without it.

From what I read at lunch, seems to carry a lower RAM footprint, and is snappier. Sidebar is turned off but can be enabled.

after my itunes library got done converting, it seems like a welcome change actually. i like the upgraded gui. it feels a little snappier, but im sure ill find bloat soon enough ;)
