There is definitely an issue that needs to be corrected in the Device Manager and I'm interested in what appears when you connect the iPad. (That's step 5 of the support document and where you should start.)
The subject line says it all, sort of.
I have had an iPad (original) since December of 2010. I've had no
problems with it, whenever I cable it to my computer iTunes starts, I
can sync it, back it up, transfer files, etc.
I just bought the newest iPad (64GB, wi-fi and data, retina display) and
for some reason whenever I cable it to my Windows7 (64-bit) notebook
(the same computer that my original iPad works fine with) the new iPad
gets recognized by Win7 as a camera and shows up in Windows explorer,
but won't be recognized by iTunes no matter what I do.
I can't sync or transfer files (not a big deal because DropBox works
fine for that) but most importantly I can't back it up to my computer
like I would like to do.
Does anybody have any suggestions? I can't figure out how to prevent
Windows from recognizing the new iPad as a camera.
Thanks for any suggestions.
