Re: [iPad] OT: Shoulder update

Not yet. I go into physical therapy on Thursday. I am sure I'll get some things to do then.

Hope you have healed all up!

Thank God for no surgery. Wow on being able to get yourself dressed. Give yourself time to heal. Over a year ago, I fell & landed hard on my left arm. I could not even move my arm to get out of my nightgown & had my arm x-rayed with my nightgown on. No broken bones, except the deterioration of my shoulder bones due to arthritis. I also tried the sling. I was told that muscles could take around 3-6 months to heal. They were right. I was told to stand up, bend over & try to swing my arm in a circle & go wider & wider for exercise, so my shoulder muscles would not freeze. As my muscles healed, I was able to do more range of motion exercises. Were you given any exercises to do?

Ouch! I was very fortunate that my doctor did not shove it back in! I was fearing the pain again. Luckily they slid it back in gently, arm hurt to move but not as much ad the sudden pain would have. I heard it pop back in place. I had a fracture on the bone and I think that is one reason they did not shove it back in. They had told me that as long as the fractured bone piece stays in place I would not need surgery.

I notice things getting better in little bits. Still can't right mouse, pain up my arm.  But can now dress myself completely! Woohoo! LOL

That is fantastic news that your shoulder is improving. Sorry that you had that it happened. When I was a kid, my brother promised to give me a game, but then would not let me have it. He ended up pulling my shoulder out of my joint. It was painful, but more so when the Dr. fixed it. :) PT or doing exercises on your own is like that but will be well worth it to get your movement back.

Went to the doctor on Friday and had more x-rays. All healing well including the fracture. Was able to take the sling off! Woohoo! Can't drive or lift heavy things. LOL Right now can 't even lift a Harry Potter book with just the right hand! Or the iPad ! But is freeing to not have that sling. As each day passes it will get a bit better. I go in Thursday for therapy assessment.
