Re: [iPad] Another favorite app - Flipboard

I hear ya Robert.  I really like Zite but I'm unable to add links to the app.  Flipboard lets me add content but it doesn't have the "like" or "dislike" that Zite has.  At least I haven't found it.  If I "like" an article in Zite, I will get more articles similar to it.  If I "dislike" I get less of those articles.  The more I use Zite, the more it becomes what I really like and I find I'm not skipping as many articles as when I started using the app.

I have been using Pulse for my favorite news feeds. I still do, but you have to "know" which news feeds are available on a particular topic and subscribe to them.

Flipboard is a bit different and useful. It is similar to Trapit in that you define an "interest" and then Flipboard finds all the relevant information. However, you can also include RSS feeds and social feeds.

And, the results are beautifully displayed. As an added bonus, Flipboard had a couple of "interests" that I really found, well, interesting and they also had fantastic pictures that displayed beautifully on the iPad.

The only downside is that some of the feeds, such as Motor Trend and Japloink, have videos that require Flash, so they don't play on the iPad....which is why I still have a couple Android tablets. The display isn't nearly as nice, but at least I can see the videos.

I still haven't decided if I like Flipboard or Trapit better. WARNING - it is very easy to "waste" a ton of hours just browsing the stuff on either of these, especially Flipboard. I get up at 7 and it is usually 10 by the time I force myself to quit.

How has the iPad changed my life? Lots of other things that I still enjoy just don't get done.

Bob
