Maybe sometimes people research until they get the answer they want. -------Original Message------- From: Celtica Hippocrates A couple of years ago, and even now, there are a lot of "Snake-Oil" sites telling us we can 'reverse diabetes' Reader's Digest was a big one in this. OK, in the case of many type 2 diabetics, they CAN, in fact help themselves go off or reduce their need for meds etc by adapting different eating habits and lifestyle choices. But NOT with type 1 diabetes or age related type 2. Check out WebMD, Medscape, American Diabetes Association, World Health Organization among others on this subject if one wants to. Unfortunately, I am seeing more and more ads about 'Reversing diabetes' and 'getting off insulin'. If handled irresponsibly (Without talking to Dr. or CDE, etc), this is IMO, a recipe for debilitating illness. How many people would actually do the work of researching before making decisions? Sometimes, I think people research their purchase of a new car more than they do regarding the meds they take, or so-called 'miracle cures', or if I may use the term; "Threats". They see the infomercial and call with their credit card, ready for the magic bullet. No harm to anyone, ever intended here, but I think it is a done deal with my digs and chips. Will I have future dogs if they come to me, chipped? Yes, I will. | ||
