Since I plan to sync my iPad with the Mac, this isn't completely OT!
My problem is going to be delving into exactly *what* to copy from old-PC to
new-MBA so my iTunes library, playlists, etc. are all as they are now.
Copying the content (music, podcasts, videos, etc.) is the easy part! It's
also a "physical" challenge, in a way; when transferring lotsa stuff from
one PC to another I've been able to use a special-connect USB cable. I've
also had the tedious experience of re-doing playlists & such -- nuisance but
doable if necessary -- but of course also lose all the play-count info
(which I do use sometimes, I've been getting a lot of new stuff lately).
I have content backed up on externals, but don't want my library there --
I want it in the laptop for convenience, that's the whole point!
Migration assistant info says that it puts the migrated-from-Windows files
in a whole new user account. Will I have to be a whole 'nother person from
"me"?? How can I get everything in *one* account? Do I have to have two
accounts?
Either way, I wish it could be done direct-cable instead of by wi-fi or
PC-external-Mac. It's going to take a *long* time.
I'm taking all this *very* slowly to avoid having to return-to-start & do it
all over. :-)
