E in Long BeachSent from my iPad2I would appreciate some help here.I have a requirement for a project to be able to load data on to my iPad from another person's iMac.My partner and I are working from separate locations. An iMac each and we can easily exchange data/emails etc. But sometimes we have to meet up at another location to discuss a project on site. So if I get to the new location first, sometimes before my partner has departed he will have access to and be able to download very up to the minute data which comes in to his iMac from a third party after I have departed. The problem is we both need to have that latest data to discuss with each other on site. This is my proposal: my partner copies data [documents, photos, videos MP4] from his iMac to a USB stick. Then he brings the USB stick to where we meet on site and I transfer the data to my iPad from his USB stick so we can discuss the project using the latest data.Neither of us has a laptop and no need to buy one. On site we would not be within wifi range of his or my iMac's or my iPad. We are not interested in using any kind of Cloud storage/transfer for this task. The activity is quite small really so we do not want to go to any great expense or complexity. My friend does not have an iPad. We can not depend on any Cloud thing/hotspot as internet access is not reliable on site [site locations vary].So my thinking is this: if I buy an Apple Camera Connection Kit will this suffice in enabling such a data transfer. Is this what a Camera Connection Kit is for? If my partner transfers the latest data from his iMac to a USB stick and then brings that USB stick to the meeting with me can I plug one end of the Kit into my iPad and plug the USB stick into the other end of the Kit and then my iPad will see the data on the USB stick? And will the data from the stick be able to be transferred to the iPad, as distinct from just seeing the stick data on the iPad?Last minute changes to the data I have on my iPad may not be able to be sent by email from my partner if I have started travel to the meeting place. So for our purposes the USB stick seems the most efficient – absolute up to the minute latest data as he walks out the door.In the reverse direction we would wish to be able to make amendments to the data on site on my iPad and sync/transfer that amended data to the USB stick so he could take away the USB stick with him and we will both have identical data from the site.I hope I have explained that clearly.Appreciate any advice on how to update my iPad on site. I have looked at such gizmos as Seagate Satellite, Kingston WiDrive, etc but they are very expensive for use on an intermittent basis. And such expenditure is not tax deductible anyway in our case.Thurgoona AUSTRALIA...................Peter Sealy
