Well, it will matter. I bought one of the printers on Apple's list of
compatible HP printers and couldn't get it to work with AirPrint. So I
gave up.
I use Print'N'Share with my HP wireless printer and like someone else
said, all I need is my iPad and my printer, no other network, no email
address, nothing. And it prints from apps which aren't airprint
enabled, too.
