[iPad] Re: Too many printer apps available... which to choose?

Apple knows iOS and therefore, they are certainly capable of creating the required print drivers and software. As it is now, they fail. My biggest issue with Apple is the iPad is sold as a tool for business, artists, writers, etc. They make a big deal about the camera. They tell us Pages is a great Word Processor and they sell the iPad as a great business tool, but they make printing "impossible."

It comes as no surprise that many people are upset because printing is not easy or effortless. It is as though Apple expects those users not to want to print. Sure, you can print if your printer is WiFi enabled and AirPrint compatible. My printer is not, however, AirPrint enabled but it is a current model. I bought my printer specifically so I can print wirelessly from my iPad. I was upset to learn that ONLY HP printers will work and even then, only a small number of such printers.

The fact that I can easily print (using a paid application) tells me that making the required software and/or drivers is not at all impossible. And I did look before I bought. Nothing at the time on the Apple web site told me my printer had to be AirPrint enabled; I found that out after reading through the web site.

I do not really care about the research some say I should have done, because I did it. It is absolutely reasonable and fair to assume that their great new wireless device would be capable of wireless printing. It is like buying a car and when you arrive to take delivery, you discover that the engine is not installed or included. It might say so on the dealer's web site, but that does not matter because we should assume the engine comes with the car. It is a fair and reasonable assumption.

Thanks for joining ;) although, instead you should debate how and why apple (who doesn't make printers anymore) should be making printing software. Lol. It did. The printers haven't gotten behind it. What's your thoughts on that? My canon prints photos. Hp does too. Why others don't is beyond me. Ask epson. Oh wait I think they have an app too! Ask brother to get on board! Or whomever. But puhlease. Don't Blake apple for not making printers lololololol
