[iPad] WWDC - Swift

While I agree that Swift looks like a great improvement to Objective-C, it may or may not reduce the size of programs. All of computer languages compile (convert) human readable (or at least somewhat readable) statements into equivalent machine code that the chip can execute. Compiling is a one to many deal. One line of human readable to many machine readable instructions. Just because Swift can do more in one human readable line doesn't guarantee that it'll compile to anything less than the equivalent "several lines" of Objective-C.

I think being able to write camera apps that allow you to change F-stops and exposure etc fr the built in camera is exciting. The Swift programming language is very cool too. With Swift, a developer will use less code to create their app, making the full app smaller, which will take up less room on your iPad. Isn't that exciting? Thinking about the end products that come from what Apple gives developers to work with is exciting. I'm not a developer but I can understand why developers were happy to get the new tools they got.
