Yep.  Novelty, not creativity and innovation.  Cook understands that Apple is big and complex and needs customers.  Jobs knew it ought to be more than that.

I have been hearing this for many many months. No new Apple TV though.

I will be first to buy a new Apple TV and an Apple Watch and an Apple Phablet but at the rate Cook is going they will never be released.

I hope I am wrong but they are not releasing anything except product and OS refreshes so far since Job died. I hope this changes soon :(

AirPlay means you can send your Mac screen or quite a few iPad apps to the Apple TV i.e. your living room TV....

Roku is ahead in terms of having Amazon Prime and many more apps (which they call channels) but if you view Amazon Prime on your Mac you can send it to Apple TV and I assume so from iPad.

The current Apple TV does not have ability to add any Apps - it has what it has, you cannot buy or download any additional free apps.
