I just checked, and the pop-up blocker IS on.
It's not really pop-ups, they are overlays. They are ads that cover the webpage rendering it unreadable, and areoften almost impossible to get rid of. If you click where you normally would to close something, it often takes you to an ad. And, no, i do not go to 'objectionable' sites!
