download and install iTunes to your PC. when running iTunes for the first time you should be asked to connect your device to your PC (use your lightning charging/sync cable) and login to iTunes using your apple id and password. follow the on-screen prompts.

Problem is that iTunes is no longer on my PC. I seems to remember that just connecting the iPad to the computer caused it to DL iTunes. If I just DL iTunes will it find my iPad.
