That is the way we do our TV sound also, it is really great sound that way even if the particular program is not surround sound, even better when it is surround!
My tv audio goes OUT to my surround sound so that all that's playing on my TV cones out my speakers~KLM\\01001100 01001111 01001100//I have a home theater setup with cable box/recorder feeding into a Panasonic sound system which feeds into a Samsung LCD high-def TV. Works beautifully with one big exception. I cannot connect an Apple TV or iPad since it would bypass the speaker system. Netflix without the surround sound just wouldn't cut it.Something to keep in mind while buying a new system.Cathy
Sent from my iPad If you have a home theater setup, the internet on TV has pretty much no use at all. My recent TV upgrade was to a 73" Mitsi DLP RPT which is the biggest bang for the buck out there, though Mitsi has now discontinued them.
If I hadn't gone to the DLP, only a plasma would have gotten consideration since LCD/LED just doesn't cut it for me.
