Sure I think the changes were worth doing for me from iPad1 to the new
ipad but I don't think the changes are always significant from model to
model.
==============================================
iPad1 to iPad 2 -- added a camera and made the whole thing thinner/lighter,
almost an obsession with makers of all the portable computer type devices;
look how many reviews salivate about the "lighter & thinner" aspect of any
new offering. Company would get plenty of knocks for keeping
(un-necessarily?) the fat&heavy style. Apple sure got plenty of cries of
"why no camera" about the 1, like it was a major sin or something.
iPad2 to iPad3 -- OK it's a tad heavier/fatter than 2, but it has more
power. Also a point often emphasized by reviewers &/or demanded by users.
The 3 fits in the original Apple case for the 1, though loosely -- and of
course there's no hole for the camera.
Model to model they may not be ***big*** changes but if they aren't in some
way discernable the company would get hammered about it. And yes, those
companies *are* in business to make money -- often by persuading you that
you do need the newest thing.
Tech-toys always make incremental changes.
Old toys still work fine so you don't *have* to get new ones.
Lots of people use "out-dated" products that do their jobs quite well,
whether it's computers & tech or cars or household appliances or even
clothing.
