I hate when that happens. I few extra steps will get you around that problem if for some future message you decide that it is worth it.  

From a PC: control-A to select all; control-c to copy to the clipboard; click "reply to sender" then in the body of the new message click control-p to paste.
From a Mac: command-A to select all; command-c to copy to the clipboard; click "reply to sender" then in the body of the new message click command-p to paste.
From an iPad: touch and hold in the body of the message until you see the magnifier; release then tap "select all"; tap "copy"; tap the "reply to sender" link then touch and hold in the body of the message until you see the magnifier; release then tap "paste".
