Yes...the interface for syncing is not as easy as they would want to make you believe.

My apps are there...and I know even if they weren't, if I'd go to install them again, iTunes would have a record of their purchase and allow me to install them again without charge.

I don't think it is dumb, I think they could make Sync a little less
cumbersome to use!
