Anne, the iPad doesn't recognize fine point styluses, because it is looking for something the size of a fingertip. For that reason, all iPad styluses have large tips. Are you using the magnification box in Note Taker? I can use that and get the exact same result as my normal handwriting. I do think that drawing is a little trickier, but I think it is a matter of practice. I've run across YouTube videos of people painting amazing artwork with just their fingers! It does not look like that when I try it, lol!
One thing I have noticed about the Dagi stylus that has made me consider getting that one is that even though the tip is large like the other styluses, the Dagi tip is clear, with a dot in the center, so that it looks like it would be easier to line up your strokes with more precision. With the big opaque tips, there is a certain amount of guesswork about where your line is going to start, which I think sounds like part of what is frustrating you. So the Dagi might help with that. I have found that with practice, my aim with Pogos and Boxwaves has gotten better, but I still may break down and try the Dagi one day.
I do love the leash that came with my Boxwave. Even though my Boxwave styluses quickly wore out, I kept the leash and use it with my Pogo stylus to keep it nearby. Otherwise, I was constantly losing it! I leave the leash attached to my stylus at all times, and just plug it into the audio jack whenever I am finished using it. The clip on the Pogo is very weak, and the clip on my first one broke quickly, so I've just been using the leash instead of the clip with my 2nd Pogo, with great success! I have found that the Pogo stylus tips hold up much longer than the Boxwaves, although I like the feel of the Boxwaves better. Right now I use the Pogo, and have had my current one since January, and still going strong!
