I absolutely love the Arkon which I've been using for almost 6 months now. I especially like the fact that you can let the iPad stand portrait-wise. Last night I was watching a Netflix movie in bed and got tired of holding the IPad at the correct viewing angle and decided to try the Arkon.
I placed a pillow in my lap and set the Ipad in the Arkon and then only had to lightly hold on to the stand (mainly for security), instead of bearing the weight of the IPad. That was a big relief.
I can't see getting a specialized pillow to hold the IPad - it's a bulky piece of stuff that takes up too much space...but that's just my opinion. You may feel differently. I'm trying to pare down stuff in my life.
You can set the stand at many different angles.
