Not likely because they don't cover accidental damage. If it were a Kindle from Amazon they would likely offer you a discount on a replacement so I won't hurt to call Apple and ask. If the case advertisements had some protection guarantee they might help you out. If you really can't afford to replace it, you could see if it is covered by homeowners or renters insurance.
What ever you choose to do about it, I would recommend getting a Square Trade warranty on all your future electronic purchases. They do cover accidental damage. I've never had to make a claim but others who have on the Kindle group say that the customer service is excellent and they pay promptly.
You may have to purchase accidental damage separately so read carefully.

I was walking up some stairs yesterday, tripped and dropped my iPad 2. It landed on its top left corner (facing the screen) denting the casing and breaking the glass screen. Because I have a screen protector on it, the glass didnt shatter to bits, bit the crack lines are there. Oddly enough, the iPad is STILL working, but I'm being careful not to place too much pressure on the screen.
Question is, with it being less than two months old, am I in a position to get it replaced/repaired under warranty? I got it in the Apple Store on Regent Street in London.
