Re: [iPad] OT: TV Recommendation Request

If you have a home theater setup, the internet on TV has pretty much no use at all.  My recent TV upgrade was to a 73" Mitsi DLP RPT which is the biggest bang for the buck out there, though Mitsi has now discontinued them.

If I hadn't gone to the DLP, only a plasma would have gotten consideration since LCD/LED just doesn't cut it for me.

I'd favour Internet TV . By all accounts it is inflexible as most brands don't drive this function and it won't be as update able or as capable to Add apps. But I expect the common ones will be there which is more convenient than a hockey puck. For me I'd have both

I'd avoid internet TVs, thinking that internet's done better by one of the hocky pucks.  Personal preference.  Seem to remember that Best Buy thot Sharp Aquos (?) were the only Sharps worth looking at.

The last two TVs that I have purchased have been ProScan and I have been very pleased with them.

I'd say that Internet connectivity could be interesting as that means maybe Netflix or pandora may be pre installed. Or Plex.

3 or more HDMI ports? Holy moly.

I don't have much interest in 3D or internet connectivity, but would prefer 3 or more HDMI ports. Do any of our members have recommendations or comments on models that I should avoid? Thanks
