Sadly, I know. That's why I keep my old Win XP because I don't want to spend another $500++ to buy new software when my old CS is working fine. Although it does seem to have some funny quirks these days.

Adobe has changed their upgrade policy. You will no longer be able to skip upgrades and still get upgrade pricing. You can upgrade CS5 to CS6 only from Adobe since there was a CS5.5 version. So if you wait, you will have to pay the full price whether you get the Windows or Mac version of Photoshop.
