My iPad3 handles the photos the same way Mary describes.  My Camera Roll contains only those photos taken by the iPad.  My iPhone 4S is the same except that all pictures are in a file labeled Photo Library.

It is interesting the differences in id photo handling here. I have the pad3 and photos from the iPad camera AND my digital cameras all go into camera roll.

Awesome, so the camera USB imports to Camera Roll and the SD card doesn't. That means I can use that method to keep control of my import photos, great

Lead acid and lithium ion batteries have a different discharge graph. Lead acid start to discharge immediately (slowly) when the charger is removed. Lithium does not. A lithium ion battery ability to supply current is longer than lead acid. Lead acid batteries cost less to produce and replace as needed however. I would select the lithium ion bike. A side note. You will find NO lead acid batteries in a hybrid automobile except the engine start battery.

The gasoline engine start battery in the Prius is the high-voltage NiMH or Lithium battery. The lead acid battery powers accessories when the car is NOT in "Ready" mode, and powers the electronics to "boot" the car computers when starting.

The start battery in my Ford Focus Hybrid is lead acid and starts the gasoline engine. I know this because I ran it down below voltage needed when towing the Ford behind my coach using a Roadmaster Aux bake device. Car would not start until I charged the lead acid battery. I had a Prius before that. I don't remember what the start battery was. The battery that ran the electric motors was a lithium ion as is the Fusion Hybrid.
Lithium ion is superior (I think we can agree) to lead acid except for cost. To make this pertinent to the iPad I think the iPad has a lithium ion battery. LOL.

I can walk normally, but on the way to and from work, my shins go all to heck. That, and the occasional run to the P.O, Store, Pharmacy or local Dr's office is what it was mainly for.

I just had experience with ordering an item from Amazon to Germany for a friend who is not computer savy and the delivery information was not dependable. The Firend is very impatient, so when her granddaughter had not received the music cd's within a week she was upset and when another week went by I called Amazon for her and at that time the delivery date had moved back to mid July. However, her granddaughter received the CD's a few days after my call so they must have already been sent. I did protest to the support person about the misinformation but the bottom line is the granddaughter got the cd's within about 2 and a half weeks from the order and was delighted with the gift.

Thanks again! I very much appreciate your further advice and opinions, Woody, Pat, and Gerry! It is great to be able to profit from your own experiences and conclusions on these various devices. You have really helped me be able to make a wise decision on which of the available devices would be the best for me. Before you wrote, I had absolutely no idea what e-reader I would like the best because I didn’t understand the differences between them. Thanks to your info. and recommended reading, I have a pretty good idea of which one I would like best. Thanks so much!! The Nook Simple Touch with embedded lights sounds great, but it isn’t a possibility for me because it isn’t available here. I don’t want to bother with converting almost all my books, so that means the Sony won’t work. I didn’t like the sluggishness of the OYO, and today I saw two other devices I had never heard of but didn’t care for, so that leaves the Kindle. Since it will be available here the end of June, I have decided to go for it. A lot of you who responded to my request for advice seem to like it a lot, so I have a feeling I can’t go too wrong with it. And I will have e-ink now! I can see where the Kindle Fire would be defeating my purpose, as nice as it sounds. The general consensus seems to be that I would like the Kindle Touch, so that’s what I just ordered! Now I can’t wait to get it! The next hurdle will be figuring out how to get the books on it that I ordered for and loaded onto my iPad. ;-) Too bad I can’t just beam them over! LOL!!!

Bill,
Teamviewer HD and Logmein are free for personal use and highly regarded. I
have used both on PC and Mac but not (yet) on my iPad. Suggest you try it.
I also have Splashtop, on sale for $5, but have not tried it either.
From reviews I read on various news feeds, one of these should meet your
needs. Sorry I can't give a definitive recommendation for the iPad.
However, regarding Splashtop, I have used the Win8 version on the iPad and
was not impressed, but this could have been caused by Win8 or the computer
it was running on.

Thanks Carol, but grocery list was just one example. I am using notes, but would also like an app with a little more robust function. Now I'm gun shy about trying another app because I don't seem to be able to tell if they require Internet access.

OneNote won't sync to its cloud when you're offline but you can still use it
& access its pages.
Or you could do the really simple thing & use the built-in Notes app.

When I tried to open OneNote away from the wifi it wouldn't open. The error message said "Turn off airplane mode or use wifi to access data.". So if I'm interpreting that correctly I can't access my data in OneNote with being connected to the web.
I am also using the built in notes app but would like something with more function.

Just a general comment since a lot of people here seem to have an Android
phone and a Win PC.....until I can get my wife and cohorts converted to
iPhone, a top priority is that an app work / sync across iOS, Android and
Windows. Something to think about if you and your colleagues have multiple
platforms and you need share info easily.
Regarding Evernote or One Note, I side with Evernote. Much better apps
across multiple platforms and more capabilities.

Replacing an SLA cell on the bike, $100.00
Replacing a Li-Ion battery from Manufacturer, $399.00
Currie Tech (the maker) is currently out of stock of replacement batteries...''Hmmmmm. ...." Said while rubbing chin.
Thinking of just going for what I had. The other bike is almost $300.00 more and the Li-Ion battery if I needed it replaced would be half the cost of the bike.
Easy decision eh?

I "had" the 32 GB version, but I returned it, for various reasons which may
not be pertinent to you. I am sure the only difference between the one you
are asking about and the one I had is capacity and price. Here are some
pertinent comments.
First, most of my using it was on my Android tablet and just a little while
on my iPad.
The reasons why it went back:
1. Very slow when connected to USB2 on computer.
2. On iOS, iPad can read but not write to the device. Big problem for me,
I did not try writing to it through my camera connection kit on jailbroken
iPad. This was the deal-breaker for me for the iPad.
3. Android tablet ran ICS and this app desperately needed an update to be
compatible with ICS. Also, several other issues with the way file icons
were displayed). This was the deal-breaker for Android.
4. I was not happy with the way file icons, or lack thereof, were handled
when connected to my iPad. Not a deal breaker for me.
If you can live with these limitations, it is a rather nice device. Note
that it cannot be used wifi when connected to your computer (PC or Mac) as
wifi is disabled. Battery life was easily over 3 hours. A really neat
feature is that this device bridges with your wifi router and your iDevice
connects to it via wifi, so that you have access to your files on the
Kingston AND you still have access to internet via wifi. Also, multiple
iDevices (I think up to three) can connect simultaneously).
I can verify that playing movies or podcasts from the device worked
flawlessly (I think I tried this on iOS, I know I used it on my Android).
Also, I think that they and Seagate also make a similar device except the
storage is a spinning portable (battery-powered) hard drive. However, it
is a lot more expensive, while also being a lot less expensive per GB.
My solution is to just use the camera connection kit with my jailbroken
iPad. Less expensive and more versatile.
Sidenote - FWIW, I wish I could get down to just one OS. What a pain to
have multiple Android, Apple and PC devices.

Bob, with the CCK and your jailbroken iPad, what jailbreak apps did you find were most useful?

Tony, as I recall, the only thing I had to do, other than jailbreak, was to
use iFile*.
Jailbreaking is rather easy, and also easily undone if you want or need to
go back to stock for warranty issues. However, the big disadvantage with
jailbreaking is that you will lose your jailbreak when the next version of
iOS is released (thank you Apple, you could learn some lessons here from
Android.....Android, you could learn some lessons from Apple since EVERYONE
immediately gets an iOS update if they want it). And, you may have to wait
months until the iOS jailbreak community comes up with a jailbreak for the
new iOS version.
*When you jailbreak, you will find many tweaks available that you will need
to "enable" some of the capabilities of the iDevice. I highly recommend
that you keep a list of what you install, along with why you installed it.
However, having owned an iPhone of one variety or another since the iPhone
3, you would think I would have acted on this advice - HA! Consequently, I
don't recall needing to do anything other than use iFile.
I also confess to being an "app hog", no matter what device. I have over
500 apps on my Android phone, an untold number of programs on Mac and Win,
and almost 300 on my iPad.....most of which I don't use, and probably many
that need updating on the Mac.
