You can rename files that are saved to some other PDF-reader-able apps.
I use Docs2Go & GoodReader (both synced & d/l direct).
I don't know about files in iBooks.

Not on the ipad that I'm aware, but if they are on your hard drive, you can
rename them as any other file and then drag and drop in itunes same as
usual.

I have downloaded several quilt patterns in PDF format so I can have them
with me just in case I happen to see a quilt store. They are named something
like 129fmr406. I would like to rename them something that I can relate to.
Is that possible? I downloaded them, then put them in iBooks.
