I get all that. What I don't get is the lack of interest in data that terrorists can store safely on their phone, and waltz pass Police etc as they are taken into custody.

As their plans are safe.

It just seems that the privacy of unimportant innocents is more important than terrorists.

So, because you do not value privacy, the other hundreds of millions of iPhone and iPad devices in the world shouldn't, either?

How about the Chinese government (to pick an obvious example) snooping on American business executives — or private tourists — in China?

How about private hackers snooping on your banking data, if you have any? Or mine?
