U.S. Patent No. 9,274,340 details the start of what I believe is one of Apple's boldest projects yet. All signs point to Apple going "all-in" on the technology Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said is "the coolest thing" he has ever seen.
One tech analyst has gone on record saying he believes Apple is developing this tech "with the long term goal of replacing the iPhone."
As I picked my jaw up from on the floor and reviewed the specs Apple had sketched out, I could see that analyst's rationale -- this invention could replace the iPhone!
Then, I saw Patent Application Publication 0044245 -- a document that could have an even more immediate impact on the world. The document (filed just months before the death of Steve Jobs) details what the next generation of the company's wearable devices may look like and do.
While the current Apple Watch has been a massive hit, if Apple releases the device I saw that day, it could be an absolute game-changer for Apple and a handful of other companies.
