Ok, so just to understand, if I buy a phone from Apple, and pay full price, I can go to either AT&T or Verizon and buy a SIM card and pay for their service? And later, if I change my mind, I can buy a new SIM card from another company?

Me: But if I buy a phone outright from Apple for $1,000, it should not be tied to a carrier.
