They may or not come back if it's a POP account.

And it also depends on whether they have stored any email in local folders.

I find the best way is usually to force close Mail, give it a minute or so, and then reopen it.

That clears an amazing amount of glitches.

My Apple mail shows one unread message.  I cannot find one anywhere.  A search on the internet says one fix is deleting the account and adding back.  If I do that, will my emails, contacts, reminders, etc. come back also or will I lose all that?  Thanks for suggestions.
