Heard there was a security problem with this version, and have stayed away from bank sites. Is this true?

There was a serious security hole that was FIXED by this version...
That said, using any unsecured public Wifi is inherently ... insecure ... unless you also set up and use a VPN like TunnelBear or Cloak.
