My house is a Samsung house. Never had a problem with Samsung. I'm guessing my Samsung flat panel is small these days. It's a 40". We did what every videophile says not to do. We hung our TV on the wall above the fireplace. It doesn't seem too high for us but most say a TV should be at eye level when sitting down.

We have had nothing but good luck with our Sony TV's. From a small color model that lasted 15 years (bedroom TV) to a 27 inch model that was replaced by a flat screen Sony Bravia 2 years ago. There was nothing wrong with the 27" model and we gave it to friends who are still using it.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, a few years ago I outfitted my entire AV system with Sony... 60" TV, VHS Player/Recorder, DVD Player, Dolby 5.1 Receiver, Dual Cassette Player... the whole nine yards!
Within 5 years, the TV was gone, VHS was hungry and ate everything inserted, DVD player was fritzed. It didn't happen all at once, that would have led me to thinking it was a power surge or something... no the components just started dropping-off one by one.
Bottom line, I'll never buy Sony! Their tag line is truly applicable: Sony the one and only! It was my one and only that's for sure!!!
