Good points. Can video not pass through the HT on HDMI to the TV?

My home theater is made up of satellite DVR, Apple TV, BluRay player and HDDVD player that all feed my Denon AV receiver via HDMI, then a single HDMI cable to my TV. All audio goes through the Denon regardless of source.
Doing it this way eliminates the problem you see with yours.

I have a home theater setup with cable box/recorder feeding into a Panasonic sound system which feeds into a Samsung LCD high-def TV. Works beautifully with one big exception. I cannot connect an Apple TV or iPad since it would bypass the speaker system. Netflix without the surround sound just wouldn't cut it.Something to keep in mind while buying a new system.Cathy
Sent from my iPad If you have a home theater setup, the internet on TV has pretty much no use at all. My recent TV upgrade was to a 73" Mitsi DLP RPT which is the biggest bang for the buck out there, though Mitsi has now discontinued them.
If I hadn't gone to the DLP, only a plasma would have gotten consideration since LCD/LED just doesn't cut it for me.

I don't have much interest in 3D or internet connectivity, but would prefer 3 or more HDMI ports. Do any of our members have recommendations or comments on models that I should avoid? Thanks
